Exhausted
Wow. What a day. What a past few days!
Work has been alright the past week and Shane and I moved into our new (oversized) office on friday. It is way more room than we need, but of course we aren't saying anything. We even get windows to the outside...Yay! So that will be nice tomorrow to start working on things.
Saturday I woke up early to run some errands. I woke up at 8:30 and got to Citibank to open an account by 9:10. Everything went smoothly, i just need to now validate my address somehow, one way would be with a CA drivers license. When i got home i looked up local DMVs and found that one within 10 miles was open every third saturday in addition to weekdays (which are booked for me). So i went there and was there by 10:30. After parking 2 blocks away due to the lack of available parking spaces, i waited in line with about 60 mexicans. EVERYone was speaking spanish, i didn't hear anyone except my teller speak english the entire time i was there. I finally get up to the front (now 11:15) and the guy was like, okay you need a green card or birth certificate or passport. I had none of the above, so i went home with nada. I was getting hungry, so Pete and i decided to go to iHOP. Mike was passed out from the night before still and even violent shaking didn't wake him up enough to ask if he wanted to come. IHOP was another wait, but good food. I ate my french toast and a pancake of pete's which definately hit the spot. WIth a full stomach and feeling like i at least accomplished a few things for a saturday, i decided to take a wonderful NAP. I set my alarm for a few hours later, and was just about to get into bed when my phone rang. Caller ID said it was J.C., so i assumed he was calling to coordinate things for sunday. The conversation started fine, him asking what i was up to and other small talk (i'm so naive), so i told him i got everything pretty much done for today and was just hanging out doing nothing now. He's like 'oh great because meredith just called and she needs someone to come in to do some graphic work for a little bit. i would, but right now im in santa monica. do you think you could go in for a little bit?'
So the nap definately didnt happen. I was at work by 2:45 and got out around 7.
I decided i had had enough of no piano or guitar, so i dragged mike and pete to guitar world where i bought an acoustic guitar. It's good to have my fingers hurting again :)

Got home and watched Little Miss Sunshine and ordered some food from a chinese place. Turns out a 'full order' is basically the equivalent to refilling a tray at a chinese buffet, so i now have enough left over orange chicken to last me the rest of the week.
Sunday morning rolls around, and i wake up at 9 to find i already have a voicemail from JC saying we should get going to beat traffic and get a full day in. I called him back, and left the house around 10 after throwing a change of clothes into a paper bag, rushing a shower, and pounding a bagel down.
We get to the club and found an open paddle tennis court. It was a battle of the titans for the match, complete with grunting and fist pumps, and i barely edged him out in 3 sets. Then he gave me the tour of the santa monica branch of the club, right on the beach. We rode macinaw-island-type bikes up the beach a mile and back, then took a shower and drove over to UCLA. The tennis tournament had been going on all week, we were just there for the finals. James Blake was playing Radek Stepnavek in singles and the Bryan brothers were playing some other doubles team. We stayed for both and ate and drank a lot and soaked up a lot of sun.

We left around 6 and ate some more at a high class sushi place in bel-aire before returning to the valley. I am extremely tired but at least i feel like i really did a lot this weekend. It's 9:30 now, but it feels like 2:30 in the morning. I can't wait to crawl into bed...hopefully this week is a fun one. I'll keep you posted.
